I use this lens with the Canon EOS R. The question is, is this lens worth having around? I believe it is.It is built like a tank, the controls are very smooth, and the sharpness, clarity and color are very good. I also use a 17-40L lens and others for wide shots. The 10mm is just enough to give you the wilder fisheye shots you want, but also adding a wider point of view for landscapes. Like many things, there is a knack to knowing when this lens will give you what you are looking for. Familiar landscapes now have other interesting possibilities. And edgier fisheye shots now are possible. I use it mostly in these circumstances. I havent done much with closeups at 2.8 but i did take a couple of test shots and they came out well. Whatver you decide to do with this camera, it will pretty much deliver a good photograph as far as image quality. OK this is a manual lens. For most landscape type shots, the focus and the aperture will be in the same general region, so you can pretty much point and shoot. More creative shots may require a little more thinking. One thing to note is that there is a long play in the focus up to 3 feet, then a short throw from 3 ft to infinity. So all in all, a lens that brings new possibilities , built well, comes in a leather like case, delivers good image quality, and oh yeah. Its less than 300.
