Designed to provide a noteworthy improvement in sound quality over microphones built into cameras, smartphones, and portable recorders, the Deity Microphones V-Mic D3 Pro is a camera-mount shotgun microphone offering directional audio capture, adjustable gain and filtering, and broad device compatibility for mobile journalists, vloggers, YouTubers, and run-and-gun videographers.
With a built-in microprocessor that automatically configures its TRRS connector to work with most 3.5mm mic input jacks, the V-Mic D3 Pro is compatible with a variety of DSLRs, camcorders, mobile devices, and portable audio recorders. Attachment to your camera, boompole, or tripod is simple and efficient using the supplied Rycote adjustable shockmount and 3.5mm TRRS coiled cable.
A stepless knob on the mic's bottom provides up to 20 dB of gain for easy optimization of levels. Activate the onboard low-cut filter at 75 Hz or 150 Hz to reduce rumble and bass buildup. The microphone is powered primarily by the internal 51-hour rechargeable battery; plug-in power (bias voltage) from your camera or mixer is only required to turn on/off the mic. The lightweight aluminum body is finished in a low-reflection paint, ensuring that it won't weigh down your camera or induce distracting glare.

great quality sound for all purposes, voice over, shotgun, etc... one down side is i have noticed a buzz sound on certain frequencies...
The most recent reviewer brought this product down with one star, because they couldn't figure out that they could find any power-outputting USB-C to charge this device. I literally used a USB-C from my wireless hub this morning, my PS5 cable last week, and a short 4 inch spare USB-C cable I found in my camera bag last month.I've used this as a run and gun mic, and other applications for years. I moved out of state and back, and was sad to have left this little dude. It is strong, the STEPLESS gain is smoothhhhh, even after heavy use and months left back at home.I use it on my DSLR, I use it with an adapter on my iPhone and the Anchor app for a podcast in my car, you can use it on an array of things. Just trust it. I've had a Rode, and prefer this. When in my home studio I use an XLR mic and set up, but tbh this give out some great quality if you're just looking for a shorter cheap setup that packs the punch and quality features of some more expensive competitors in this realm.Don't have an off-camera H1 recorder? Get one later. Plug this bad boy in for now, then extend your setup later.
A great professional shotgun microphone, comes with a nice sturdy case and a wind mic cover. Great product and a great value.
This mic works well with my Canon cameras and Zoom H1 recorder. It's easy to adjust and change settings as needed. The sound quality of my videos has improved greatly by using it.
This is a great mic and I am glad that I picked it up. I use this on top of my Canon DSLR and there is absolutely no comparison between the audio quality of the camera or LAV mic VS. this shotgun mic.It is easy to use, easy to set up and I highly recommend this to anyone who is looking at their first shotgun mic. The adaptor that came with this kit will make it easy to use on a boom as a stand-alone setup and that's why I opted for this kit rather than just the microphone. The bad? First, the wind-sock (dead cat) that comes with it does not fit appropriately. But by cutting the rubber end piece that the mic slides into in a way that matches the foam sock it fits just right. Very minor and took all of 30 seconds. Seeing as the cost of this kit and the kit without it and the adaptor are the same, I'm not complaining.Second, the shipping. This seller uses DHL. The 3rd party distributor they used to do the final delivery really messed up and tagged on a couple extra weeks in the delivery of the product because they had no idea where the location was in the city. I drove to the distribution center 3 separate times to try and get the parcel myself only to find put the last time they delivered it - to a house 2 doors down. Does this cause me any grief with the product? No. But I am putting this here as DHL offered absolutely no help whatsoever to help get the parcel. So to sum up,-Excellent build quality-Superb value for money-Very robust all around starter kit for your first shotgun mic-Audio quality is VERY high-Able to be used on a camera or a stand alone setupDowns:-Minor tweaking needed on the wind sock-Shipping was a pain.
