I bought this lens for astrophotography. I'm using it on a Sony A7RII, which has an excellent sensor that will expose the flaws of just about any lens if you examine an image's pixels. However, I believe Sony's thick sensor stack tends to cause corner problems for wide angle lenses like this one. Nevertheless, I have been happy with the images that I been able to achieve so far.The build quality is good, being all metal. The lens is hefty without being heavy. The lens looks good. I like the feel of the aperture ring and focusing is smooth. Due to the lens geometry, I suggest keeping on the metal lens hood, which accommodates a metal cap.For the price, aperture size, focal length, quality and image characteristics, I am very happy with my purchase.I have attached two images that came straight out of the camera as jpg's. I am a beginner at astrophotography and I was in a hurry last night when I took the photos. I had to frequently wipe dew from the lens because of fog and 100% humidity.
